Life @ LH

Most part of the 4 yrs at PSG Tech might have gone without books, classes, food, sleep, movies ... but not without friends at hostel.. First week in hostel, there was a competition for heater to take bath at 6 AM!!! :P But later it became seven.. then eight..finally then some ppl gave up the habit :P The person who has changed drastically from the first to the final year is my very own room mate Sri Subha.. She used to start preparing for internals from a week before (inspite of daily studies) in the first year.. But no one could be as cool as she used to be in the final yr.. her prep would start only at 6 in the morn for semester exams!!! (Forenoon session) .. Still she managed to become the Best Outgoing girl of her dept .. But the best part is when she cries to me for getting just one one-mark wrong in the whole part (my position would be pathetic)..

Food at mess .. hmmm wow !! our group must have been one of the few ppl who ENJOYED the mess food even in the final year.. we are one of the first few ppl to get into the mess as soon it opens at 7 ;) And sometimes a double dinner when there is noodles .. Talking about noodles.. We used to have noodles party when the four of us (our 'group') feel like really enjoying. :) It would be well cooked by the Chief Cook (myself) and her three assistants :P And of course the impromptu visits to Aunty shop (my room mate gives the treat always;) ).. So now i realise that at least fifty percent of our hostel life was spent on food (at least discussing abt food ).

B'Day party @ hostel always makes the day really special!! Sneaking a half Kg cake inside the hostel under the nose of the deputy Warden and the watchmen requires special talent :P And the cute gifts i got and those we gave .. made those moments sooo sweet.

9PM to 6AM is called the 'silence period' of the hostel!??! we never knew it until we copied the answer in hostel quiz :P We 'voice out' our views mostly always after 9.. so many a times got warned, scolded by the deputy.. another feather on our caps :P

Many other cute moments.. like enjoying the rain with hot soup.. enjoying a rainbow.. lunch at aaryas..mokka discussions.. sometimes serious ones.. sharing ice creams.. watching movies.. listening to music.. sometimes dancing :P on the stairs..at mess..on the terrace.. under the beautiful trees.. and under the wide sky.. i will miss the most beautiful days with my dear friends @ LH ..

This is dedicated to my chweet friends Sri, Swat, Sowmi and many others who made my hostel life beautiful :) Thank you ppl

The Orientation

Aug 1, 2006 . .
It was a bright Tuesday.. We were asked to assemble at Y 201.. It was quiet difficult by that time to find out the correct block and reach the place 'in-time'.. Standing outside the hall, the intro's started.. everyone with his/her own apprehensions.. about studies, ragging, the new place, etc ,etc.. Then we all got inside the room, a nice cushion seat for ourselves and got settled.. It was then our HOD spelled out the Mission of our dept.. I am sure i read it.. but after that i never knew what happened.. I was very much asleep on the very first day. The mission started.. after that i slept in almost all of the classes there upon..
The college tour was some what refreshing.. And of course the snacks at the canteen needs no mention..

Classes commenced on the very first day :( It was Chemistry lab.. The only lab session without lab coats. It was just an intro session.. so it just lasted for some one hour.. Still there were some padipps who bought their records and obse's on the same day and started doing some work.

It was from this day the journey of four years of fun started. And now, when all these memories come back, they never fail to bring nostalgia ..
